  1. Kitchen Hand

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    There has never been a more exciting time to join our large kitchen team with the recent opening of 'Precinct', which includes FOUR new dining outlets, a cocktail bar and an on-trend / industrial event space which provides a unique location for weddings, special occasions, corporate events and workshops. There are EIGHT dining outlets altogether throughout the Club which you can gain exposure to.

    The role:

    You will be an experienced Kitchen Hand looking to join our energetic and progressive team. You will be hard-working, organised, creative, and passionate about food and attention to detail. You must be able to work in a busy and friendly environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and also able to work unsupervised. This type of experience will ensure your success as you assist the kitchen brigade with the smooth operations of the various kitchens in relation to food preparation, basic cooking duties, cleaning, assisting with stock rotation and most importantly maintaining the hygiene standards for the whole kitchen.

    Ultimately, we are we looking for:
     

    • Previous experience in a similar role including food preparation and cleaning experience.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Flexible hands-on approach.
    • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Good working knowledge of WH&S principles, food safety and hygiene requirements
    • A high level of accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
    • Someone with motivation and a strong spirit who wants to grow within the business.
    • Ability to work days, nights, split shifts and weekend shifts.

  2. Full time Chef

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    There has never been a more exciting time to join our large kitchen team at The Shellharbour Club. Our newest food and beverage establishment ‘Precinct’ recently opened which includes FOUR new dining outlets, a cocktail bar and an industrial event space which provides a unique location for weddings, special occasions, corporate events and workshops. It takes the best of street food, street art, AV and performance.

     

    Therefore, in-conjunction with the other eateries on-site, you will work across EIGHT different food outlets – Italian, Asian, South American cuisines are on offer just to name a few of our many dining options. There is also the opportunity to prepare superb food for the growing functions and events team – We are serious about providing variety and opportunities in your role!

     

    Ultimately, you will be looking to make a positive contribution to the culinary team and to the Club's future while taking advantage of the potential career path on offer as the Club continues to move forward.

     

    We only want the very best to join our progressive and innovative team, which means you will be a hands-on Chef who knows the market, understands existing and emerging trends in food and be outcome focused. You will also be willing to assist the kitchen management with monthly stock-takes, completion of daily food safety checklists and other compliance related documentation.


    You will need to be able to demonstrate:
     

    • Relevant trade qualifications.
    • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume venue.
    • Previous experience in a leadership capacity in providing direction to Apprentice Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands.
    • Intermediate knowledge of a range of different cuisines and cooking styles.
    • Previous experience providing a high level of customer service to members, guests, visitors and fellow employees.
    • Strong knowledge and experience of WH&S, Food safety and hygiene practices.


    Most importantly you will need to have a passion for food and commitment to working in a busy and challenging environment. You must be flexible and able to work a range of shifts across days, evenings and nights including split shifts.
