  1. Full-time Chef

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    The Shellharbour Club is looking for a passionate Chef to join our large kitchen brigade. We are looking for someone who will make a positive contribution to the Club’s future whilst taking advantage of the potential career path on offer as the Club continues to grow.

     

    The Club has eight different food outlets which the successful candidate will work across, some of the cuisines include; Italian, Asian, Mexican and South American. There is also the opportunity to prepare superb food for the growing functions and events team – we are serious about providing variety and opportunities in these roles.

     

    Most importantly we want people who have a passion for food, thrive working in a busy environment across a range of shifts including days, nights, split shifts and weekends.

     

    The Role

     

    You will be a hands-on Chef who knows the market, understands existing and emerging trends in food and be outcome focused. You will also be willing to assist the Head Chef with monthly stocktakes, oversee Apprentice and Kitchen Hands, completion of daily food safety checks and other compliance related documentation. A relevant trade qualification is a must and previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume venue essential.

  2. Part-time Food & Beverage Attendant

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    Due to the exceptional growth of the business, we are seeking high energy and passionate Food and Beverage Attendants to join the team.

    There has never been a more exciting time to join the reigns with eight different food outlets, a functions team multiple bars including 'Precinct, which includes FOUR of the dining outlets, a cocktail bar and an industrial event space which provides a unique location for weddings, special occasions, corporate events and workshops. It also takes the best of street food, street art, AV and performance.To continue to be a leader in this industry, delivering an amazingly high level of customer service must be your forte.

    The Role

    As a Food and Beverage Attendant you will be responsible for the following:
    • Wait service, including delivery of meals to patrons and clearing tables.
    • Assisting in functions and events.
    • Bar service, including mixing and serving drinks to patrons.
    • Taking orders and assisting patrons with menu choices.
    • Floor duties, including the collection of glasses and general cleaning.


    Key skills and experience for the role:

    • Current RSA qualification.
    • Ability to work days, nights, split shifts and weekend shifts.
    • Previous experience in a similar rolE.
    • Exceptional personal presentation.
    • Energetic individuals with outstanding customer service skills.
    • Positive team players with a flexible, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
    • Good working knowledge of WH&S principles, food safety and hygiene and the ability to stand on your feet for more than 10 hours.
    • Good working knowledge of food and beverage trends.

  4. Part-time Cook

  5. Full-time Food and Beverage Manager

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    The Opportunity

    The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the successful strategic and operational delivery of the entire Food and Beverage offering for the venue.  This role will ensure all F&B outlets and events deliver a premium, on-trend product and service offering that is financially profitable.  The direct F&B team consists of more than 60 team members with a strong kitchen brigade, front of house and back of house team members and you will be responsible to lead, manage and motivate these team members to deliver a sound F&B offering to our guests and visitors.

    This Full-time role reports to the Operations Manager and forms part of the Operational Management team for the Venue. 

    Who are you?

    A proactive and operationally focused F&B Manager who is able can drive the performance of all food and beverage outlets.  You will be responsible for the financial performance of these outlets and charged with the responsibility for the Food and Beverage Team.  We need you to have experience across both food and beverage and be able to demonstrate the following:

    • Capacity to develop budgets for multiple outlets;
    • Proven knowledge of financial cost controls and management of financial performance;
    • Experience with menu and product development;
    • Ability to establish and implement service strategies;
    • Evidence of supplier management;
    • Proactive facilitation of staff recruitment, development and performance management.

  6. Full-time Apprentice Chef

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    The Shellharbour Club is looking for a full-time Apprentice Chef to join our large kitchen brigade who will make a positive contribution to the Club’s future whilst taking advantage of the potential career path on offer as the Club continues to grow.

    The Club has eight different food outlets with some of the cuisines including; Italian, Asian, Mexican and South American. There is also the opportunity to prepare superb food for the growing functions and events team – we are serious about providing variety and opportunities in these roles.

    Apprentice Chef Role

    The full apprenticeship is a 3 year engagement to complete the course and the successful candidate must be available to work a range of shifts including days, nights, split shifts and weekends.  At the end of the apprenticeship, there will be the possible opportunity to stay on-board in accordance with business requirements and performance.

    Ultimately, we are we looking for someone who:

     

    • Is passionate about food and cooking
    • Possess a sound work ethic and the ability to work as part of a team
    • Has excellent grooming and presentation standards.
    • Is willing to commitment to a 2-3 year apprenticeship including undertaking apprenticeship studies at TAFE one day per week
    • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.


    In turn they will receive:

     
    • A nationally recognised Certificate III Commercial Cookery at the end of the apprenticeship should they fulfil the requirements and put in the hard yards. 
    • Be exposed to a variety of cuisines under the guidance of Chefs who have years of experience.
    • Be supported throughout your apprenticeship while having access to food and beverage discounts while on shift.
    • Their TAFE fees and resources paid for based on the successful completion of all units.
    • Government incentives.
    • Uniforms provided.
    • Exceptional training and development opportunities.


    In this position you will be entitled to penalties and allowances in addition with all the benefits of permanent employment. We also offer a fantastic training along with career development opportunities across an expanding business
