  1. Full time Chef

    The Shellharbour Club
     

    There has never been a more exciting time to join our large kitchen team at The Shellharbour Club. Our newest food and beverage establishment ‘Precinct’ recently opened which includes FOUR new dining outlets, a cocktail bar and an industrial event space which provides a unique location for weddings, special occasions, corporate events and workshops. It takes the best of street food, street art, AV and performance.

     

    Therefore, in-conjunction with the other eateries on-site, you will work across EIGHT different food outlets – Italian, Asian, South American cuisines are on offer just to name a few of our many dining options. There is also the opportunity to prepare superb food for the growing functions and events team – We are serious about providing variety and opportunities in your role!

     

    Ultimately, you will be looking to make a positive contribution to the culinary team and to the Club's future while taking advantage of the potential career path on offer as the Club continues to move forward.

     

    We only want the very best to join our progressive and innovative team, which means you will be a hands-on Chef who knows the market, understands existing and emerging trends in food and be outcome focused. You will also be willing to assist the kitchen management with monthly stock-takes, completion of daily food safety checklists and other compliance related documentation.

     

    You will need to be able to demonstrate:
     

    • Relevant trade qualifications.
    • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume venue.
    • Previous experience in a leadership capacity in providing direction to Apprentice Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands.
    • Intermediate knowledge of a range of different cuisines and cooking styles.
    • Previous experience providing a high level of customer service to members, guests, visitors and fellow employees.
    • Strong knowledge and experience of WH&S, Food safety and hygiene practices.

     

    Most importantly you will need to have a passion for food and commitment to working in a busy and challenging environment. You must be flexible and able to work a range of shifts across days, evenings and nights including split shifts.

  2. Marketing Coordinator

    What are we looking for?

    We are seeking a talented Marketing Coordinator who is tech savvy, forward-thinking and geared for success to join our highly successful team. Working in a supportive environment, this hands-on-role requires a creative, proactive person who has the ability to think outside the square to coordinate the marketing and promotional activities of the business.

    The role

    The role will involve delivering targeted marketing solutions whilst contributing to the full spectrum of marketing and promotional activities including communications, brand management, event coordination and client experience. There will be a strong focus on building the digital footprint including planning and executing social media, email, web and SEO/SEM campaigns whilst identifying trends to ensure continued success of the strategic objectives.

    Working in a dynamic business, no two days will be the same as you will need to be across various marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase market share and optimise performance.

    Some of the main responsibilities would include:
     

    • Coordination, communication and evaluation of promotional activities and events, advertising activities, sponsorship activities and other marketing activities.
    • Development and execution of digital / social media marketing platforms and online profiles whilst measuring and reporting on digital marketing campaigns.
    • Writing clear briefs for Creative, Digital, Web and Production teams whilst working in-conjunction with the graphic design team to produce effective campaign graphics.
    • General administrative tasks including data collection, collateral creation and print management.
    • Assist in researching and developing marketing strategies to respond accordingly to changing trends and audiences within the market.


    What can you offer to this amazing role?
     

    • Tertiary qualification in marketing and/or communications OR equivalent substantial industry experience.
    • Solid understanding of the digital and social media landscape
    • High-level written communication and verbal communication skills including strong copywriting skills.
    • Strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to work to deadlines
    • Ability to analyse and interpret market research
    • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    • Demonstrated sense of creativity and a passion for innovation


    Desirable:
     

    • Proficient in Adobe Suite.
    • Experience in social media management.
    • Experience in website management.

    The Role

    As a Gaming Attendant you will be responsible for the following:
     

    • Provide a high level of customer service ensuring our patrons comfort is at a premium standard.
    • Wait service, including delivery of beverages to patrons in the gaming room.
    • Poker machine pay outs and maintenance.
    • Maintain the accuracy of cash handling transactions including cash reconciliations and balance / summary of daily transaction activities.
    • Ensure the gaming room is kept clean, well organised and safe.


    Key skills and experience for the role:
     

    • Previous experience in a similar role.
    • Current RSA and RCG qualifications.
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Ability to work under pressure whilst still delivering high quality customer service.
    • Sound computer skills.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Good working knowledge of WH&S principles.
    • Ability to work days, nights and weekend shifts.
