  1. Chef - Part-time

    The Shellharbour Club

    This is your opportunity to apply for a part-time Chef position in one of the leading establishments in the Illawarra!

    We know that it is a two-way street, we are looking for someone who will make a positive contribution to the Club’s future whilst in return we will provide the potential career path as the establishment continues to grow.

    Delivering diverse food offerings are instrumental, that is why we have eight different food outlets including Italian, Asian, Mexican and South American who all have strong focus on creating seasonal ‘trendy’ food. There is also the opportunity to prepare superb food for the growing functions and events team – we are serious about providing variety and opportunities to show-case your talents.

  2. Customer Service Host - Part-time

    The Shellharbour Club

    An exciting position has become available for a part-time Customer Service Host who is passionate, energetic and motivated to deliver incredible service, going the extra mile for customer satisfaction.   
     

    First impressions last forever and as the 1st point of contact for our 500,000+ visitors who walk through our doors each year, your ability to ‘surprise’ members and guests with your bright and bubbly customer service approach will set you apart from the rest.

     

    You will know about all of the offerings and licensing/compliance requirements whilst exemplifying professional and personal sales techniques to encourage repeat visitation. We make this easy for you by offering modern surroundings in a family-friendly environment with an array of dining outlets, bars, versatile event spaces and a live entertainment schedule.

     

    Working within this role, you would be responsible for:

    • Providing a high level of customer service to members, guests, visitors and fellow employees;
    • Proactively approaching members and guests to ensure they meet club and licensing requirements;
    • Providing information and up-selling of facilities, products and membership to new and existing members via phone or every experience where an opportunity is present; and
    • Effectively communicating with all demographics, portraying a strong passion for our club and brand is a must.

     

    To be successful in this role you will require:

    • Confident and personable with strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
    • Intermediate computer skills.
    • Effective conflict resolution skills.
    • Current RSA Qualification.
    • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain this qualification.
    • A firm understanding of licensing requirements with respect to the Liquor Act, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling and the ability to enforce them when required.
    • Good awareness of manual handling principals.
    • Ability to be both a night owl and an early riser as the roster includes various shifts across the 7 day roster.

  3. Chef De Partie - Full-time

    The Shellharbour Club

    The Kitchen is where the action happens…
    This is an exciting and incredible opportunity to apply for the Chef De Partie position in one of the leading establishments in the Illawarra!
    The ‘hands-on’ and career driven Chef De Partie will assist the Head Chef in making a positive contribution to the Club's future whilst taking advantage of the potential career path on offer. We have other ‘external’ opportunities in the works to carve out your career.
    You will have an assortment of cuisines to choose from - South American, Asian and Italian are just some of the offerings, with each outlet having a strong focus on seasonal menu’s that change often to enhance your creativity and ambition.
    Bring your passion to the table and we will provide the beautifully designed open-plan kitchens and tools to showcase your talents.
    To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to bring the following:
    • Relevant trade qualifications.
    • Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain.
    • Advanced knowledge of a range of different cuisines and cooking styles.
    • Provide a high level of customer service to members, guests, visitors and fellow employees.
    • Ability to oversee and be responsible for multiple outlets during peak times.
    • Demonstrated supervisory experience in training, mentoring and leading a kitchen team and ensure they comply with the clubs procedures.
    • To be able to assist the kitchen management with monthly stock-takes, completion of daily food safety checklists and other compliance related documentation.
    • Previous involvement in menu design and menu costing in-conjunction with the Head Chef.
    • Strong knowledge and experience of WH&S, Food safety and hygiene practices.
    Previous experience in a similar capacity is desired however not essential.
