  1. Part-time Food and Beverage Attendant

    The Shellharbour Club

    If you’re passionate about providing impeccable service whilst having fun along the way, you’ve come to the right place.

    We’re on the lookout for a part-time Food & Beverage Attendant to provide our patrons with memorable dining experiences and people to shake, stir and show-off their bar skills. You must thrive working in a super busy work environment as you could be taking orders one minute to waiting incredible meals the next.

    The Food and Beverage team is a large department who provides amazing customer service across multiple food outlets, bars and a variety of event spaces. The energetic team takes a ‘hands-on approach’ to creating customer loyalty whilst staying abreast of service and food trends.

    If you have a welcoming smile, helpful nature and a nature flare for sales, you will be a ‘stand-out’ in this role. From locals to growing families, our patrons are diverse and hungry!

    Working within this role, you would be responsible for:
     

    • Wait service, including delivery of meals to patrons and clearing tables.
    • Assisting in functions and events.
    • Bar service, including mixing and serving drinks to patrons.
    • Taking orders and assisting patrons with menu choices.
    • Floor duties, including the collection of glasses and general cleaning.
    • You will be able to demonstrate:
    • Current RSA qualification.
    • Exceptional personal presentation.
    • Positive team players with a strong work ethic
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
    • Good working knowledge of WH&S principles, food safety and hygiene.
    • Good working knowledge of food and beverage trends.
    • The ability to work days, nights, split shifts and weekend shifts.

  2. Apprentice Chef

    The Shellharbour Club

    1st, 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Chefs are welcome to apply.

    The Shellharbour Club is looking for a passionate full time Apprentice Chef to join our large kitchen brigade on a 3 year fixed-term basis with the possibility of extension. We are looking for someone who will make a positive contribution to the Club’s future whilst taking advantage of the potential career path on offer as the Club continues to grow.

    Delivering diverse food offerings is our forte. That is why we have eight different food outlets including Italian, Asian, Mexican and South American which all have a strong focus on creating seasonal, trend relevant food to develop your knowledge and skills. We also have a growing Events team; we are serious about providing variety and opportunities to build your talents.

    The successful candidate will need to be committed to completing their studies whilst having a passion for food and a willingness to learn. They will need to be available to work across a range of shifts including days, nights, split shifts and weekends. At the end of the apprenticeship, there may be the possible opportunity for the employee to stay on-board in accordance with business requirements and performance.

  3. Full-time Sous Chef

    The Shellharbour Club

    We have a rare opportunity to appoint a full-time Sous Chef who is a natural-born leader and qualified to operationally manage and drive the +25 Kitchen brigade of Chefs, Cooks, Apprentices and Kitchen hands. Your experience will continue to transform the food offerings to take the 8 food establishments to the next level.
     
    Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be a true professional who is dedicated to delivering high quality cuisines. We only want the very best people to join our progressive and innovative team, which means you will be ambitious, hands-on and knowledgeable about existing and emerging trends in the market. Working in fast paced and high pressure environments is where you perform at your best.
     
    As the 2IC in the Kitchen, you would be responsible for:
     

    • Working with the Head Chef and management team to continue to translate concepts and ideas into successful performing food establishments.
    • Assisting the Head Chef with mentoring, training and developing the large kitchen brigade including rostering, staff development and performance management.
    • Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchens and the implementation, evolution and ongoing improvement of standards and profitability.
    • Overseeing the effective management of catering control including stock levels, stock rotation and managing the ordering process.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant Work, Health and Safety procedures including knowledge of HACCP.
    • Achieving the highest food standards in order to exceed customer expectations.

     
    What we are looking for to be successful in this role;
     

    • Energy, passion and demonstrated culinary experience.
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified Sous Chef or in a similar capacity.
    • Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain.
    • Knowledge of Food Safety Principles and extensive food knowledge across a range of cooking styles.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen professionals.
    • Sound organisational skills including time management, task prioritisation and resource scheduling.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Sound demonstrated knowledge in the areas of Work, Health and Safety and HACCP.
    • Ability to work a rotating roster including days, nights, split shifts and weekend shifts.

     
    Desirable:
     

    • Previous multi-venue experience.
